I intend this post to be a full listing of candidates that will be appearing on the ballot in August 2008 for a citizen of Fremont, Michigan. Please use the contact button at the top if any of my information is incorrect. But don’t contact me advocating for any particular candidate. This post is solely about who’s on the ballot. I will continue to update this list as I find more candidates. inc. stands for incumbent.

Note on Court elections: Assuming I read the law correctly, if the court elections aren’t competitive, i.e. the number of candidates is less than or equal to the number of open positions, the candidates will be moved to the general election ballot and will not appear in the primary.

Newaygo County Proposals & Millages

  • Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Relief Fund Renewal – For the year 2008 and continuing through the year 2017, shall the total taxable property rate limitation in Newaygo County be lifted by 0.10 mills (10 cents for each $1,000 of valuation) for the operation of the Newaygo County Indigent Veterans Relief Fund? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage raises an estimated $130,000.00 in the first calendar year after its approval. All revenue shall be appropriated by the Newaygo County Board of Commissioners and only disbursed to the Newaygo County Department of Veterans Affairs to fund its operations. This is a renewal of a previously voter-approved authorization that will expire before the effective date of this authorization.
