From a February 2007 Gallup poll (I constructed the table myself from their numbers):
Between now and the 2008 political conventions, there will be discussion about the qualifications of presidential candidates — their education, age, religion, race, and so on. If your party nominated a generally well-qualified person for president who happened to be [ITEM A-J READ IN ORDER], would you vote for that person?
Yes % No % No Answer % A. Jewish 92 7 2 B. An atheist 45 53 3 C. Black 94 5 1 D. Catholic 95 4 1 E. A homosexual 55 43 2 F. A woman 88 11 1 G. Mormon 72 24 4 H. Hispanic 87 12 1 I. 72 years of age 57 42 1 J. Married for the third time 67 30 3
Awww, now I feel all warm and fuzzy inside…or not. In case you’re wondering, here’s how a few of the questions correspond with current presidential candidates:
- Mitt Romney (R) is a mormon.
- Bill Richardson (D) is hispanic.
- John McCain (R) will be 72 years old in 2008.
- Rudy Guliani (R) has been married three times.
Note: If the table above changes appearance it’s because I’m fiddling with the styles.

Jason Felton is a homo sapien in his mid-20s observed to be living in west Michigan. Observations suggest that he spends way too much time on the internet reading blogs, researching family trees, and keeping track of current events in science and politics. Other interests of his include atheism, electronics, religion, and history, among many other things.
