I was reading the Wikipedia article on the Channel Island Sark (it’s currently in the news section on the main page) and came across this amusing tidbit in the recent history section:
One-man invasion attempt
In 1991 an unemployed French nuclear physicist named André Gardes attempted a singlehanded invasion of Sark, armed with a semi-automatic weapon. He was arrested by the Island’s part time police officer while Gardes was sitting on a bench, changing the gun’s magazine.
Watch out for those physicists. They’re crazy!

Title idea from Uncertain Principles.
I came across this hilarious parody (spoilers!) of Deathly Hallows today at Gibberish in Neutral (also courtesy of Uncertain Principles). For the record, I finished the book yesterday and enjoyed it for the most part.

Jason Felton is a homo sapien in his mid-20s observed to be living in west Michigan. Observations suggest that he spends way too much time on the internet reading blogs, researching family trees, and keeping track of current events in science and politics. Other interests of his include atheism, electronics, religion, and history, among many other things.
